Keeping the Boat in One Place

While the objective is to sail, a surprizing amount of gear is devoted to keeping the boat in one place while at anchor. Our new anchor chain, seen here gleaming in the sun, is 250' long. Gary is marking it at regular intervals so that we know how much chain we let our while anchoring. We refurbished our old anchors (45lbs CQR and Bruce) to complement this system. These are deployed off our new bow roller, which can now hold two anchors. We'll typcially only use one anchor and store the others.
